About Tux

Tux is the heart of our breeding program. With his striking black and white coat and soulful eyes, he's as handsome as he is talented.

Tux has earned his Gun Dog title through proven performance in the field, demonstrating the natural hunting instincts and biddability that make French Brittanys such exceptional companions for upland hunters. He's also earned his Water Retrieve certificate (WRT), showing his versatility both on land and in the water.

But don't let his accomplishments fool you. At home, Tux is a gentle soul who loves nothing more than being close to his people. Whether he's working birds in the field or relaxing on the porch, his calm confidence and eager-to-please temperament shine through.

Pedigree and Bloodlines

Tux comes from a line of proven producers and titled dogs. His sire, GUN2 Loki du Ten Bar Ranch TAN WRT, carries the Ten Bar Ranch foundation, while his dam Hollee de Plum Creek brings in the legendary CH Tatoo du Bois Courcol, a French Champion who sired over 150 puppies.

This combination of proven hunting genetics and sound temperament is what makes Tux such a valuable part of our program.

Working Heritage

A Truly Versatile Hunter

Tux isn't just a pet. He's a working bird dog bred to do what French Brittanys have done for generations: find, point, and retrieve upland game birds with style and intensity.

You'll find Tux quartering through tall grass prairies, locked up on solid points, or riding along on float trips down the river, always ready for the next adventure. He works with the kind of natural ability and drive that can only come from generations of careful breeding for function first.

Tux splits his time between Montana and Arizona, hunting in two completely different environments throughout the year. In Montana, he works the tall grass prairies from late spring through early fall. In Arizona's desert landscape during the late fall and winter months, he adapts to different cover, different bird species, and different conditions. He also spends time training in late winter to early spring in Kansas and Georgia.

This year-round exposure to varied hunting situations has made Tux an exceptionally adaptable bird dog, and that versatility makes its way to his offspring.

We hunt Tux regularly, and his puppies benefit from a father who knows what it means to work in partnership with his handler.

As a Sire

Tux has proven himself as an excellent producer. His puppies inherit his:

  • Natural hunting instincts

  • Calm, confident temperament

  • Biddable, eager-to-please nature

  • Striking good looks

From his 2024 litter with Trinity, two of his offspring, Valkyrie and Venice, earned their TAN (Natural Ability) titles at just 9 months old, demonstrating the exceptional hunting genetics Tux passes on to his puppies.
